2022
The incident that started everything
After a 4-hour undetected API outage cost a production SaaS thousands in revenue, Aryan and Priya decided to build the monitoring tool they wished they'd had. StatusOrbit v0 was a weekend hackathon project.
2022 Q3
First 100 users
Posted on Hacker News and ProductHunt. Reached 100 users within 48 hours. The community feedback shaped everything — from alert confirmation logic to the current dashboard layout.
2023
SSL & domain monitoring launched
The #1 user request — stop the embarrassing moments when SSL certificates expire without warning. We shipped SSL and domain expiry monitoring with configurable alert windows. Over 500 certificates saved in the first month.
2023 Q4
Team features & Slack integration
Moved from solo-user tool to team platform. Shipped multi-user access, shared monitoring dashboards, Slack alerts, and webhook support. Crossed 5,000 active monitors.
2024–Now
50,000 endpoints & growing
